Council & Governance
The Rural Municipality of Eastern Kings is governed by an elected Mayor and Council, who are responsible for setting the direction of the municipality, making decisions on behalf of residents, and ensuring that municipal services are delivered effectively. Council operates under the authority of the Prince Edward Island Municipal Government Act, which sets out the rules and responsibilities for how municipalities across the province are run.
Council meets regularly throughout the year to consider bylaws, review budgets, and address matters affecting the community. Meetings are open to the public, and residents are welcome to attend. Meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes are posted on this website so that residents can stay informed about the decisions being made on their behalf.
This section provides access to information about your elected representatives, upcoming and past council meetings, the bylaws and policies that govern how the municipality operates, and the financial statements that show how public funds are managed. If you have a question about any aspect of municipal governance, contact the Municipal Office.
